In the frame of a fruitful cooperation and in order to promote scientific tasks shared among the various project partnerships, Angelantonio Minafra (IPSP CNR, Bari; task leader of WP5 ‘Evaluation and field testing for Xyllela’) made a study visit of one week (from September 25th to 29th 2023) to Heraklion, Crete. He met with (i) Electra Gizeli (Coordinator of the Project), Anastasia Galanopoulou and Vayia Tsiakalou (Biosensors lab, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, FORTH) for an intensive exchange of information, data and methodologies focused on the update on the field-based molecular detection of Xylella; and (ii) Konstantinos Paraschakis and Pavlos Charonyktakis (JADBio, Science and Technology Campus, Heraklion) about the research on eco-epidemiological methods to investigate spread and expansion models of X. fastidiosa, based on real monitoring data in the field and their interaction with climatic data.
Dr Minafra has also held on Thursday 28th an informal presentation to the IMBB staff on the recent results obtained by CNR team in Bari.
